: This study aims to determine the role of the teacher as a mentor, motivator and facilitator in training independence of children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten Immanuel Christian II Sungai Raya. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The subjects were teachers and children aged 5-6 years in the class B3. The results showed that the role of teachers as mentors, guiding children, supervise children, explain and give examples of prior to the child, and provide opportunities for children to try to do it yourself. Teachers as a motivator, motivating children to give understanding, encouragement and praise. Teacher as facilitator, providing facilities such as toys, books and facilitate children\u27s learning.
